Roads
to Adventure - Go
Yellowhead
Just
imagine your car is a time-capsule;
cruising down a broad ribbon of Canadiana,
in the wake of nomadic hunters, voyageurs,
missionaries, traders, sodbusters, fortune
seekers and railroad builders. From the
Haida Gwa'ii to Lake Manitoba, it's a 2600
km journey into history, with Indian
encampments older than Egypt's great
pyramids, national parks, ancient shrines
and battle sites. Ethnic dances and
pageants salute every facet of our
heritage.continued.

A
walk in the Woods- Life's Greatest
Tonic
whenever
you need a lift . My best tonic is a trip
to the nearest rain forest - and
fortunately they are near at hand. For me,
it's Stanley
Park.
There's some special magic about these
primeval woods; the aroma, the lush ferns,
the giant towering evergreens reaching the
sky, while other species grow together out
of a common stump, like lovers in a fond
embrace.

Route.
The
announcement that Route 40 "The Discovery
Coast Passage" will continue is welcomed
news to the tourism industry, particularly
for tourism businesses in Bella Coola and
communities on the Central Coast and
northern Vancouver Island. The Port
Hardy-Bella Coola run has been facing
uncertainty.

From
Captain Vancouver to VanHorne, History
comes alive
By
Reverend Ed Hird.
How did so many local cities get a Dutch
name like Vancouver? The name goes
back to when the Canadian Pacific Railway
came to Port Moody in 1886, and then to
Vancouver in 1887. Vancouver was
first called Gastown, before being changed
to Granville after Lord Granville for his
part in birthing the Canadian
Confederation. DETAILS.

the World's Great
Fleets.
"COTA
believes the ferry service is a floating
highway and a vital transportation link
for B.C. We look forward to working
closely with the new BC Ferry Authority
and providing input as we move forward on
an integrated tourism transportation
strategy for the province," said Mary
Mahon Jones, COTA.

Alive.
That
the BC Spirit is alive and well was
evident at the UBCM 100th Birthday event
at the Vancouver Convention Centre. We
were enjoyed being part of the scene.
